Newport Beach PD Ends Investigation
The Newport Beach Police Department has closed its investigation into an alleged relationship between Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey and a teenage girl. The department announced the decision on Wednesday after reviewing evidence and conducting interviews with both parties involved. No charges will be filed against Giddey.
The girl's lawyer, Lisa Bloom, previously stated that her client had been in a relationship with Giddey for several months and that he knew she was underage at the time. However, the police department found no evidence to support these claims. Giddey has denied the allegations.
The NBA is also conducting its own investigation into the matter. The league has not yet released any findings or announced any disciplinary action against Giddey.
